It looks like you got kind of bogged down with set theory, and parts of it were hard to follow. It seemed like we had similar experiences of having trouble starting out and figuring out the smaller examples. I found it similarly hard to even figure out what was going on with 4 people. This was a hard problem to get into. Also, I don't think I agree with your answer, but we already talked about that. :)
This is amazing. I was most impressed with your choice to do this on a whiteboard and just take photos. How many whiteboards did you have to be able to do continuous work or did you have to erase after each boardful? Mathematically, I also started with three people and when trying to go to four I found it to be quite difficult and had to try more than a few avenues to try to get a feel for the direction of the problem. I didn't even consider set theory.
